Hello, this is Diane. Jérôme asked me to give feedback about our last training session in Cris et chuchotements. And although I can’t find my words sometimes, I can tell you we had great fun there! The club is becoming familiar to me, I like the cosy atmosphere, the dim lights and the sexual tension… Add on top of that a Shibari training session, and you get something you can’t get anywhere else!
Jérôme, Ben and I gave our expert advice to beginners and more advanced learners of Shibari, making them understand it is a great way to have fun, but still giving them the utmost important safety tips. Indeed, Shibari may be fun, but you should always bear in mind the saying: “safety first”.
It was fun, as always, to meet people interested in the art of shibari and to help them on their personal development, showing them the path to a realm of infinite rope combinations. Shibari is not only about restraint or suspension, it is also about creativity and aesthetics, sublimating a body. Anyway, to put it short and simple: It was fun, interesting, lovely atmosphere and people, therefore, you should definitely come next time … see you around!
I would like to have more time to write about all the things we appreciate but, unfortunately, that’s not easy. However, I really want to speak about the event created by my friend Esinem … The London Festival of the Art of Japanese Rope Bondage is organized from 23th to 26th of September in London (UK) and I am sure attending people will get a nice time there.
The Festival presents kinbaku/shibari as an artistic inspiration, a performance art in its own right and as a means of erotic communication, whilst sharing knowledge about it and its cultural context in a way that is accessible to all. It includes:
Kinbaku inspired art, photography and design
Presentations, classes and workshops by world renowned experts
Music, movies and videos
Performances and demonstrations
Japanese food and drink
The main venue will be the Resistance Gallery. This is an unique, multi-functional, modern, 2,200sq ft arts, performance & gallery space in the creative heart of Bethnal Green, London E2. It provides art exhibition space, theatre, avant-garde gatherings, cabaret, photographic shoots, filming & video location, live music events, multi media installation experiences, workshops etc.
In one word, we recommend this event :)
